Romantic or raunchy, playful or provocative, artists are encouraged to express it all in a variety of media – no boundaries, no dull moments, and a raised eye brow is only the beginning. Nude 8 is “RedHot!” this year with a line up of performers that’ll sizzle on the stage while art lovers indulge in a wanderlust of cutting-edge visual and performance art for an unforgettable carnal affair on Saturday, March 31 8pm-Midnight downtown Tulsa at the IDL Ballroom.
Nude has been Tulsa’s only juried erotic art show for eight years and is still hot and heavy after all these years. The “RedHot!” theme sets the stage for the evening and guests are encouraged to deck themselves in the most sultry of shades, dressed to impress. Nude 8 features a range of artists, from established auteur to first-timers, and for many is one of the few opportunities to display some of their more provocative pieces. Artists of all skill level and discipline are encouraged to enter. For only $25 artists can submit up to three pieces by MARCH 24, 2012. A jury will select the pieces to be shown, but regardless, artist who enter their work will receive free entry to the event.
As art decks the walls of the IDL Ballroom, the stage will come alive with a rockin’ set from Baby Daggers and DJ Demko will keep those hips swaying with throbbing beats.
Then Nude 8 turns up the heat with a sizzling line up of burlesque performers. Lovely ladies will tease and taunt the audience, each with their own signature style. Audiences will be dazzled by a variety of burlesque performances, from cheeky to elegant, and glamorous to downright sultry. Enjoy performances from Lu Foxxx and Ilsa the Wolf of Eye Candy Burlesque; Poppy Pie and Ginger Slap from TwoLips Burlesk; all the way from sunny California, the green queen, Kira Von Sutra; from Dallas, Bang Bang Lu Lu and Adele Wolf from Oklahoma City; the divine Nikki Trash returns for the sixth year and local talent Josie Lee will share the stage.
Sometimes it’s more about what you are wearing than what you are not. New at Nude this year is a fashion show featuring V. Espranza, a local fashion designer who is bursting at the seams with talent. See some of his latest provocative designs in his first ever appearance at Nude.
The master of ceremonies is none other than the dashing Mr. Chuck Stikl from Z104.5 The Edge. He’ll keep the party flowing and audience members entertained.
And a proud tradition of the Nude Art Show is the large supply of parting gifts provided by Patricia’s of Tulsa. Maybe you can’t take home a piece of art, but you may just get the chance to take home something to make your night even naughtier.
